Halloween Safety Tips
With Halloween just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to make sure your jack o’ lantern is ready and your costume has all its finishing touches. However, more importantly, it’s vital to make sure that you know how to stay safe while celebrating the holiday. Keep these Halloween safety tips in mind, to ensure you have a safe and fun Halloween night.
- When choosing a costume for your child, make sure it fits properly to avoid tripping and falling while trick or treating. Also, make sure they wear proper shoes so they’re comfortable walking all night!
- Fasten glow in the dark tape or stickers to your child’s costume to make them more visible to passing drivers! Have them carry a glow stick or flashlight to make them be seen and to let them see better in the dark!
- Don’t allow your children under the age of 12 to go trick or treating by themselves. Always make sure they have the right amount of adult supervision.
- If you have older children who are trick or treating with a group of friends, make sure they stick to neighborhoods they’re familiar with.
- Before you allow your children to enjoy their Halloween candy, make sure to look through the bag! Throw away any pieces of candy that are open or look like they’ve been tampered with!
- If you’re driving on Halloween night, make sure to use extra caution and always stay alert. Children are excited on Halloween and can dart out in the middle of the street with no warning.
